Terrazzo and Sustainability

Terrazzo flooring is an original recycled product, created centuries ago by Venetian workers using the waste chips from slab marble processing. Today Terrazzo continues to provide environmentally friendly durability and low maintenance, typically lasting the life of the building. With novas, it earns further point on indoor air quality ratings. Recycled content is still a standard feature of modern Terrazzo.

Terrazzo is composed of naturally occurring aggregates, recycled glass or plastic and processed cement or epoxy binders. The binders constitute 25-30 percent of the volume of a floor; the remainder is composed of aggregates, pigments and fillers.

Durability

Sustainable construction is at the core of green construction. Epoxy Terrazzo floors have an outstanding record of durability and performance . The floors will typically last the life of the structure. In many older buildings, the floors can be restored to their original luster at a fraction of the cost of replacing it.

Terrazzo Restoration

Advancement in Terrazzo Restoration allows us to bring back floors to their original beauty. A reward for this effort is that Terrazzo floors are easy to maintain. Since they are seamless, it is easier to keep a very clean home. Just mop, as necessary, using warm water and occasionally with a ‘neutral’ floor cleaner. That is all there is to it.

When the repairs are complete, each inspected for color Blend and match. Very old stains can be the most difficult to match.

Having your Terrazzo floors restored, polished, cleaned or freshly installed today is more affordable than ever.
